EARLY READING PROGRAM
EARLY READING PROGRAM
At Bloom House, our Early Program is designed to help children build strong reading skills from age 3. Using a blend of proven, internationally recognized teaching methods, we make learning fun and effective. Through interactive activities like phonics, sight words, and storytelling, we ensure that each child progresses at their own pace, gaining confidence and a lifelong love of reading.
Little Learners (Ages 3-4)
LEVEL 1
Focus: Phonemic Awareness, Letter Recognition, and Basic Language Skills
At this stage, we introduce the basic concepts of reading, laying the foundation for a strong literacy skill set.
Phonemic Awareness: Children will begin to recognize and produce simple sounds (e.g., identifying the first sound in "cat"). This is crucial for developing the ability to blend sounds later on.
Letter Recognition: We focus on introducing letters and their corresponding sounds through flashcards, songs, and interactive games.
Hands-On Montessori Materials: Using sandpaper letters and moveable alphabets, children engage in tactile learning to reinforce letter shapes and sounds.
Storytelling: Simple stories and picture books help children understand the structure of stories, while also encouraging listening skills.
Interactive Games: Fun activities, like rhyming games and letter matching, help solidify their early language skills.
Focus: Phonics, Sight Word Recognition, and Simple Sentences
As children progress, they begin to link sounds to letters and understand how these components form words.
Phonics Practice: Through engaging activities, children will begin blending simple sounds to form words (e.g., "cat," "bat," "dog"). We use phonics songs, letter-sound matching, and flashcards to help with this process.
Sight Word Recognition: In addition to phonics, children will start to recognize high-frequency words (e.g., "the," "and," "in") by sight. This is done through flashcards, interactive books, and word games.
Simple Sentences: Children will start reading simple sentences, building confidence in their ability to understand and decode words.
Story Engagement: By reading simple picture books together, children practice following along with the story, connecting the words they know with the pictures, and understanding basic story structure.
Montessori-Inspired Activities: Children will use word-building cards and story sequencing activities to reinforce their understanding of words and sentence structure.

lEVEL 3: Fluent Readers (Ages 5-6)
Focus: Sentence Structure, Comprehension, and Independent Reading
In this stage, children begin to read with greater fluency and start to engage in reading independently.
Sentence Building: Children will read and write simple sentences, using their knowledge of phonics and sight words. Activities like sentence puzzles and fill-in-the-blank games support their sentence construction.
Comprehension Skills: Story comprehension becomes a key focus. Children will practice retelling stories, answering questions about the plot, and identifying main characters and settings.
Reading Fluency: Through levelled readers and interactive reading, children will practice reading more complex sentences and stories, moving towards independent reading with confidence.
Rhyming and Word Families: Through rhyming games and word family activities, children will develop an understanding of how word patterns work (e.g., "-at," "-in," "-og").
Montessori Materials: Activities like moveable alphabets and story sequencing support children’s independent reading and writing.

Independent Readers (Ages 6-7)
Focus: Reading Comprehension, Expression, and Creative Reading
At this stage, children are becoming confident readers, and we support their transition to independent reading and deeper comprehension.
Reading Comprehension: Children will read longer, more complex stories and practice identifying key ideas, characters, and plots. They will be encouraged to predict what happens next and to talk about the story in their own words.
Creative Reading: By engaging in role-playing and dramatizing stories, children will develop an expressive, enjoyable way of interacting with texts.
Advanced Phonics and Word Families: As they read more challenging stories, children will encounter new phonetic patterns and word families, expanding their vocabulary.
Story Analysis: Children will start analyzing the story's themes, emotions, and messages, engaging with the text on a deeper level.
Montessori-inspired Reading Tools: By using materials like story maps and word-building tools, children will enhance their reading comprehension and story sequencing abilities.
Bloom House Reading Boosters
For children aged 9 and older who are still struggling with reading, our tailored Reading Support Program is designed to help bridge the gap.
Through one-on-one sessions, we focus on reinforcing key reading skills like phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. Our program uses a combination of interactive exercises, multisensory activities, and structured reading materials to help children build confidence and improve their reading abilities at their own pace.
Our approach is flexible, ensuring that children receive the targeted support they need to become confident readers, no matter where they are in their reading journey.
HOW DOES KAINEL WORK?
Kainel learners perform regular tasks at home(new ones sent on a weekly basis via the learning platform) and attend study sessions twice a week(on the kainel online platform). Though this study time can vary, it may take about 45-60 minutes each subject to do a day's worth of engaging tasks.
Students do digital worksheets in online class, where they are supervised and led by the instructor who help and support the student in their studies and make sure they are making good progress.
